Hongsakul Media has evolved. From our big-bang beginning with Money! and News! on our minds, we have now evolved into a service oriented association focussed on CSR.
That will explain our original motto, “SOLUTIONS! Not Just Talk"
and the current call-out:
Media Excellence in Service to Society
MEDIA EXCELLENCE
Hongsakul Media began in 1995 with my first job, the Grand Opening of the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum in Pattaya. Our splashy lead-in campaign yielded what the visiting President of Ripley’s International noted, “the most publicity of any museum worldwide”.
In 1996, we invited Richard Frenkiel, co-inventor of the cellular system, to Thailand to update the industry. Later, sponsor Lucent Technologies hired me for their global events team at HQ in the USA. Back by 2004, I served as Advisor to the Chairman of Manager Media Group, for their Asia Pacific satellite channel, and encouraged the establishment of their webcast, Thailand's first.
SERVICE TO SOCIETY
My work has migrated to ‘Total-CSR’ and focused on non-partisan support of leadership development. This began with PR advice to Apirak Kosayothin during his successful campaign for Bangkok Governor – and continued with help to New-Gen leaders from 4 political parties – one of whom went on to become Prime Minister
Somewhere along the way, I lost my drive for just making money. I simply could not sit up at my desk without thinking about the world around me. I had sold products and services, I had worked for the world's top companies in hospitality, entertainment, and communications. I had also been a social worker and media expert on both sides of the pen and camera. But I felt that I had yet to make a real impact, except through the work of the people I supported. So...
I gathered my legions of friends and jump-started an educational project, LAW Magazine. This publication was founded in conjunction with the Thammasat Law Association in 2007 and immediately went national. The Launch was attended by 5 political parties and 12 embassies. We will publish independently and distribute internationally in 2010.
Other projects include youth leadership programs and an inspirational website, and are done mostly for charity. Sometimes, we make money. But mostly, we just want to make a difference in the world. Our team consists of my multi-national friends from all walks of life, and we all contribute out of our passion for service to society.
